Congratulations to Marqes Smith, Marco Zavala, and Camarion Mozee for earning a position in this years GMEA District 1 2019-2020 Honor Band! Great job gentlemen!!! We will depart from JCMHS after lunch on Thursday, January 30 traveling to AASU, Savannah, GA and return Saturday night, February 1, 2020.

Middle School = grades 6-8:
Concert Band = grades 9-10:
Symphonic Band - grades 11-12:
Honor Band / All-State Auditions happen at the same time.
Middle school will audition on the first Saturday of December in Effingham County.
High School will audition on the Second Saturday of December in Effingham County.
Those who pass the audition will go to Savannah for a 3 day rehearsal and performance at Armstrong Atlantic State University. This is equivalent to a region championship.
Those who make it to the second round (score of 85 or above) will take a second audition in Macon, GA for the opportunity to participate in the GMEA All-State Band at UGA. This is also a 3 day event. This is equivalent to a state championship for individual instrumentalists.
Candidates must be willing to practice 30 minutes to an hour per day in addition to after-school practices. All grades must be passing.
