The WIHS Symphonic Band is comprised of students from all grades, freshmen to seniors. The Symphonic Band hosts a minimum of two concerts per year - the Winter and Spring concerts. The Symphonic Band also performs at the WIHS Veteran's Day Ceremony in November. The Winter concert is a program of festive holiday music. The Spring concert is a variety concert used to demonstrate the cumulative knowledge the students have gained in the school year. Additionally, in the Spring, the Symphonic Band travels to Lenoir-Rhyne University to perform at the Music Performance Adjudication - a state sponsored, music assessment for middle and high school concert bands. The Symphonic Band ends their performance season with the WIHS Graduation Ceremony.
