About Us

The West Iredell High School Band of Warriors was established in 1975, shortly after the high school opened, and recently just celebrated its 50 year anniversary (2025). Taking on the mascot of the Warriors, the band personified the image, spirit, and courage of the Warrior Nation. The Band of Warriors have participated in the competition worlds of concert music and marching band; including, Friday night football games, field competition performances, marching band showcases, concert performance adjudications, community events, and overnight travel performance opportunities. We have had a number of very talented directors, listed below in chronological order, that have lead the band to numerous superior ratings & 1st place awards at concert and marching festivals as well as local, state, and national acclaim. 

In 1982, the Band of Warriors was selected to represent the State of North Carolina in the Inauguration Parade for President Ronald Reagan.
