Fitness Records have been kept since the 1999-2000 academic school year and are FitnessGram Assessments are given to students in 1st through 5th Grade on a bi-annual basis. Attached are the records by grade/gender of the following fitness assessments:
Sit and Reach (Flexibility) measured in inches
PACER (Aerobic Capacity) measured in laps
Push-ups (Muscular Strength)
An additional Fitness Assessment given includes curl-ups, which measures muscular endurance, but is not recognized in the fitness records spreadsheet. The standards for gender and age are attached for each fitness assessment.
The YouTube video links provided below highlights definitions of muscular strength, endurance and aerobic capacity and how you can increase overall fitness. The parts of fitness assessed are based on FitnessGram standards and the Cooper Institute is responsible for the content of the video.
