The 23rd IPPA Congress
The 23rd IPPA Congress
1 Nov 2026 workshops
2-7 Nov 2026
Yogyakarta
All presenters must contact their session convenors and confirm their attendance at the conference on or before the 26th October 2026. The email addresses of session convenors are available on the conference website: https://www.ippasecretariat.org/ippa2026/sessions
All presentations must be delivered in person. There are no options for pre-recorded or hybrid presentations.
Only fully registered authors and co-authors may present papers.
The convenors are responsible for contacting the presenters if they have not received confirmation of attendance by the 26th October.
Aim for a presentation length of 10-12 minutes.
Convenors may cut short any presentation if it extends beyond 15 minutes. We are on a strict schedule.
Make sure your presentation is in PowerPoint format or converted to a PDF.
We recommend a font size no smaller than Arial 18 with clear images, figures, and graphics
Do not overcomplicate your presentation with animations. There is no guarantee these will work on the day. DO NOT include video clips or links to websites etc. The ideal conference presentations are clear, simple, straightforward and easy for an audience to follow.
Include your references and acknowledgements at the end of the presentation.
If possible, we encourage you to practice your presentation before you arrive at the conference. This will allow you to refine timing and adjust for presentation length if needed, and ensure your content is coherent and understandable.
For students or those new to presenting at conferences, rehearsing will help you build confidence, and this will result in better communication of your research at the conference. IPPA is a friendly and supportive community. There is no better place to present your research to an international audience for the first time.
Convenors are responsible for compiling presentations for their respective sessions.
Please do not rely on the convenors. Make sure you have a copy of your presentation with you on a USB or other hard disk.
Make sure your presentation is uploaded before the start of your session/block. This should be done in the break before your session/block starts.
The session/block convenor will make themselves available in the breaks before the presentations begin to assist the room assistants with uploading the presentations to the computer. Please note that each room will have coordinators to help convenors and delegates, but the convenors are responsible for ensuring that ALL presentations are uploaded and ready before the session begins. We will provide a list of names of the room coordinators during the conference.
Make sure you are familiar with the location and timing of your session and presentation. The information can be found through the following links:

Before the Conference
All session convenors and co-convenors who are not presenting any paper must be fully registered for the conference. We do not offer one-day registration rate as the conference fee has been adjusted to ensure it remains reasonable and affordable for all delegates.
Check the website to see the list of presenters as well as your session schedule and room assignment. Make sure you do this first. You may find that many sessions have changed, and adjustments have been made following withdrawals. Please refer to the most recent online version of the program and your session line-up.
Contact the presenters in your session to make sure they are still attending the conference and presenting. If you have participants that have withdrawn, please contact Iza (fredeliza.campos@aol.com) and the Secretariat (secgen@ippasecretariat.org) as soon as possible. If it’s not too late, it might be possible for us to make minor changes on the line-up of presentations to avoid gaps. Any change will only be reflected online.
DO NOT amend your session schedule amongst yourselves. Contact the IPPA Secretariat for any questions – you can find the session schedules online here:https://www.ippasecretariat.org/ippa2026/sessions
If you intend to collect presentations for your session before the conference, please let the room coordinators know by contacting Dziyaul (dziyaularrozain@gmail.com). Make sure that you provide sufficient time for participants to submit their presentations to you.
Participants are expected to bring copies of their presentation on a USB or other mobile device to the session to be manually uploaded if necessary.
Make sure you are aware of where your session will be held and when – check the website:
Program and Schedule: https://www.ippasecretariat.org/ippa2026/programme-schedule
Coordinate with the IPPA staff and organizers for any other queries or requirements ahead of time.
Duration and schedule of the presentation: should not exceed 15 minutes, following the line up / order of presentation posted on the website
As a convenor you are expected to be present in your assigned room before your session begins or during breaks in between blocks so that you can upload presentations to the computer in preparation for the session/blocks.
·Make sure that all presentations or other information you want to disseminate is uploaded, ordered and ready to go BEFORE your session/each block starts
Please follow the published sequence of presentations for each block – this is why it’s important to confirm all presentations on or before the 26th of October.
·DO NOT change the order of presentations. Adhere to the scheduling. For example, if you have a drop-out, DO NOT reshuffle the presentations to fill in the gap. Be innovative and use the time for discussion - allow presenters to answer more questions etc. Then continue with the planned schedule. Delegates move between sessions so they can attend specific paper presentations.
IPPA staff or room coordinators will be present in presentation rooms during breaks to give you the opportunity to complete the uploading of the presentations.
Please start and end your sessions on time.
Keep introductions brief and permit presenters their full allocated (15 minutes) speaking time.
Keep to time. If a presenter overruns, cut them short and introduce the next presentation.
The room assistants are all volunteers that have kindly offered their time to support all of us. They are there to help but it is not the room assistant’s responsibility to upload presentations for sessions or to make sure the session runs smoothly. This is the responsibility of convenors. Please treat our room assistants with the respect they deserve.
The session convenors are responsible to keep their program running on time so please follow the printed schedule exactly.
The convenors are the ones who decide on the ordert of presentation which is included in the published schedule so they can implement that order during the session.
Please follow the timing strictly (e.g., 15‑minute slots) to keep all rooms synchronised. Give time warnings (e.g., 2 minutes left) and stop presentations at the 15-minute mark.
Housekeeping: Any welcome remarks or instructions must be brief and fit within the session’s allocated time (see session timing rules). Deliver welcome message, general introduction of speakers and the sequence of presentation and other instructions within the first 15 minutes. This can only be done if the session has 5 papers for each 1.5-hour block to ensure that no presenter loses their allotted time.
Moderate Q&A: If Q&A is grouped, manage the final 15 minutes to ensure fair distribution of questions. If Q&A is per paper, keep each exchange within the 15‑minute window. Inform presenters and the audience at the session start whether Q&A will be per paper or grouped at the end.
Q&A options (choose one and announce beforehand)
Per paper Q&A: Each presenter use the first 10 minutes for their presentation and allocate the remaining 5 minutes for questions and discussions.
Grouped (15-min block) Q&A: All or most questions are held until the final 15 minutes of the block. If this format is used, presenters have the opportunity to present their papers for 15 minutes. The session convenors must decide on this format ahead of time and should be included in the IPPA23 programme.
Keep transitions punctual: Ensure quick handovers between speakers so the schedule remains on time.
If you expect overruns: Schedule a short buffer between blocks (5–10 minutes). There is also a coffee break between blocks.
You have 15 minutes total (presentation plus Q&A).
Please plan a 10-minute talk and 5 minutes for questions unless the session convenors preferred to group Q&A at the end of the session.
Arrive at the room 10 minutes early and ensure that your presentations slides are uploaded and ready,
Contact your session convenors a few days before your presentation schedule to confirm timing and/or their programming.
Use the Book of Abstracts and final schedule to plan which talks to attend.
Arrive a few minutes early to the room for seating and to avoid missing the start of a paper.
Allow time to move between rooms - the schedule assumes short transitions so plan accordingly.
