Canvas Expectation

Canvas is an online teaching tool to help students use technology to benefit their learning. Each grade level at West is working to learn and fully utilize Canvas. Canvas offers the ability to house classroom instructional material, teacher resources for students, and provides a framework integrated student classroom work.

West Students will log into Canvas during the first week of school and will learn how to navigate around Canvas, watch introductory videos and read classroom expectations. As the semester progresses students will be submitting some assignments online.

The grades in Canvas are per assignment and may not reflect the overall course grade for a student. Canvas does not show the overall course grade. The overall course grade for students are located in PowerSchool. Both parents and students are able to check the Parent/Student Portal at anytime. I generally update PowerSchool grades once per week.
