IACS ARCONAUTICS ORCHESTRA INFORMATION (Middle School Orchestra 6th, 7th and 8th grade)
Students enrolled in this class must have some experience playing a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, or string bass). The music selections in this class range from late beginning to medium levels. At home practice (5 days per week) is required.
To ensure a solid education foundation for playing an orchestra instrument, students will need to continue with their Orchestra instruments from the previous grade. If a student wants to play a different instrument, he/she will either need to re-audition on that instrument at the beginning of the school year or do Strings on Wings with their new instrument. Please have an instrument by the 2nd day of school. It is VERY important that students practice 5 days per week. Otherwise, it will be easy for a student to fall behind, and they'll easily become discouraged.
