High School Graduation Requirements

General Graduation Requirements

• • Students need a required 230 units of credit and must pass all required courses listed for graduation in order to graduate from Hume Lake Charter School.

  • Students must pass the California High School Exit Exam.

  • Students need to earn a “D” or above in their courses of study in order for courses to count as a credited class towards their graduation requirement.

College Prep Graduation Requirements (recommend for UC/CSU admission):

• • This plan makes the student eligible to apply for admission to a UC, CSU, or many other four-year colleges and universities upon high school graduation.

  • Students need a required 250 units of credit and must pass all required courses listed for graduation in order to graduate from Hume Lake Charter School. Students must obtain a “C” or higher in courses that are a-g or college prep courses in order for those courses to be accepted by a UC or CSU. Students may graduate from Hume Lake Charter High School with a “D” in a college prep course, but this course will not be accepted by a UC or CSU.

• The additional 20 credits are recommended in the areas of math, science, and foreign language courses.

• Please note: Some courses in this option can be rigorous as they are college prep courses.

For Most Block Courses One Semester of a Class = 10 credits

One Quarter = 5 credits
