Hume Lake Charter School Grading Policies

Hume Lake Charter School students are graded on the following scales:

         Grades K - 2                   

            E    =  Excellent Work  90-100%  

            G    =  Good   80 - 89%                 

            S    =  Satisfactory   70 - 79%                                

            N    =  Needs Improvement    60 - 69%

            U    =  Unsatisfactory    59% and below   

        Grades 3-12                   

            A+        98-100%+

            A          93-97%                   

            A-         90-92%

            B+        87-89%

            B          83-86%

            B-         80-82%

            C+        77-79%

            C          73-76%

            C-         70-72%

            D+        67-69%

            D          63-66%

            D-         60-62%

            F           59% or less

*Scores of a “D” or less warrant a phone call to inform the parent and to be proactive in re-teaching or informing the student of an area where they need to focus their study. A parent/guardian must be notified of a failing grade.

Reporting Periods for 2023-24 School Year:

     First Quarter Ends              October 13 - Progress Reports sent out the following week

    Parent Conferences            October 18-20

    Second Quarter Ends         December 22  Report Cards sent out during first week of school in January

    Third Quarter Ends             March 8- Progress Reports sent out the following week

    Parent Conferences            March 13 - 15 (Upon Request)

    Fourth Quarter Ends           May 17 - Final Report Cards sent out
