Math
A homework page will go home with your child nightly with each lesson. It will have the lesson we learned in class at the top. We typically only learn one new lesson a day. I do not grade homework, it is for extra practice and is optional. However, if students return their homework page the next day, they will receive a small reward. They will get a hawk ticket, candy, or be entered into a raffle and I will pull names at the end of the week.

Your child is expected to read 4 books and complete the skill based reading logs by the end of every month. No parent signature is required. The monthly skill based reading logs are in the R.E.D (Read Every Day) folder. The due date is at the front of each log. Happy Reading!
Spelling
Spelling
The weekly spelling words are from our Pathways to Reading Program. A new list will come home every Friday attached to the weekly newsletter. Students will be tested over 2 list words, 2 screech words, and 2 words that they do not study and have to apply the skills they learn with the list for a total of 6 words. Each month, students will have the same activities to practice their weekly words. On the back of the weekly spelling sheet, students will complete four of the activities. It is due Friday, unless otherwise stated due to short weeks. Spelling will begin 2nd Quarter.
