Starting with HRPro 22.09, HRPro requires .NET Framework 4.8 to ensure better performance, security, and compatibility with its latest features. This framework provides essential runtime improvements, critical security updates, and stability enhancements needed for reliable and efficient operation. Using .NET 4.8 allows HRPro to leverage modern functionalities and maintain seamless integration with current Windows systems.
On the Application Server, open the official Microsoft download page: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/net481
Under Run Apps - Runtime, click Download .NET Framework 4.8.1 Runtime.
You may choose either the Web Installer (smaller download, requires internet during installation) or the Offline Installer (larger download, no internet needed).
Download the Installer: Click the button to download the setup file.
Run the Installer:
Open the downloaded file.
If prompted by a User Account Control (UAC) prompt, click Yes to allow the app to make changes to your device.
When prompted, accept the license terms, then click Install.
The installation process will begin.
After the installation is complete, click Finish.
Restart the server to finalize the installation.
Windows 11 22H2 and later versions, Windows Server 2022, and Windows Server 2025 include .NET Framework 4.8/4.8.1 by default. On older operating systems such as Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012, and 2012 R2, .NET Framework 4.8.1 is not pre-installed. You will need to manually install it as described above.
Always ensure Windows Updates are applied before and after installation for full compatibility.
