About Mr. Richardson:
I graduated from Hope College in 2009. Before graduating I did my student teaching in 8th grade Earth Science at Harbor Light Middle School . I finished with an Integrated Science degree for Middle School and and a minor in Elementary Education.
During the first year and a half after graduating I worked as a behavior management specialist for Kelloggsville Public Schools. Kelloggsville housed a regional emotional impairment program for kindergarten through 5th graders. I worked as a para professional in all of the grade levels. A great experience for behavioral management and patience. After Kelloggsville I joined Hudsonville Public School as a long-term substitute for a teacher moving out of state. In two years I filled three long-term substitute positions in the science department before I moved into a position as the Discovery Science teacher (an elective course for non-music students) for both middle schools. Now I teach only at Baldwin St. MS as an 8th grade Science teacher and Discovery Science. With this position, I have been able to help students practice working with others, thinking critically, solving problems, and doing the process of science and engineering.
This is my tenth year teaching at Hudsonville and now I am looking to further my education with graduate courses through Central Michigan University for Administration. Recently I was awarded my professional teaching certificate by meeting state requirements for teacher qualification.
