Through this website, you will be guided through the application process, which serves many purposes, but is especially useful in that it will help you, the applicant, prepare for travel by encouraging you to:
articulate why you want to engage in this learning

and consider how the opportunity you are interested in fits within your education and personal growth.
To give an idea of our programs catalog with descriptions of the 2025-26 "Hotchkiss in the World" Programs can be found on the main page of this site.
The catalog with descriptions of the 2026-27 programs will be updated by Family Weekend.
Below are the deadlines for applications or expressions of Interest for the programs we have proposed for this year. The final list will be determined by mid-September, and all programs are dependent on student interest, as well as travel guidelines from the CDC, International SOS, and the U.S. Department of State.

Winter Term, March Break "Hotchkiss in the World" Programs, and 4th MP Exchanges
Applications are due for the following programs:
Exchanges to Round Square schools in Colombia, Peru, and South Africa
Hotchkiss in Puerto Rico - Language immersion (dates TBD in winter term)
Hotchkiss in Québec - Language immersion (dates TBD in winter term)
Hotchkiss in Andalusia (Humanities; March Break)
Hotchkiss in England - Cultural immersion and UK Universities (March Break)
Hotchkiss in Rome - Classics (March Break)
Hotchkiss Special Olympics to St. Kitt's and Nevis (March Break)

Hotchkiss in Italy Music Festival
Hotchkiss in Japan (Ceramics)
MacLeish Scholars Program at Yale
Matthiessen Environmental Science program with Yale School of Forestry
