We are excited to add a fourth cohort of Watson Fellows after the delay brought about by the pandemic. The Watson Family Civic Engagement fellowship was launched in the summer of 2019 with two members of the class of 2021. We now have fellows from the classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026, and this summer will add two members of the class of 2027.
The two recipients of the Fellowship will have the opportunity to learn about efforts to address one or two of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (U.N. SDG's) in a community outside of their own country, and also examine these same issues in their own community.
Fellows will receive $2,000 each to support international travel in the summer after the lower mid year, and $500 each for work in their own community in the summer after the upper mid year. Additional, need-based aid up to a maximum of $9,000 is available to support international travel. In addition, some travel organizations will offer additional need-based or merit aid.
Fellows will be expected to give a presentation - a chapel talk or something similar - on their work, and will collaborate with the students that follow them.
