Through this website, you will be guided through the application process, which serves many purposes, but is especially useful in that it will help you, the applicant, prepare for travel by:
encouraging you to articulate why you want to engage in this learning
think about what you could bring to a different community
and consider how the opportunity you are interested in fits within your education and personal growth.
A catalog with descriptions of the 2025-26 "Hotchkiss in the World" Programs will be added by Family Weekend to the main page of this site.
Below are the deadlines for applications or expressions of Interest for the programs on offer this year.
October 1, 2025 by 10:00 pm
Hotchkiss in Poland and Slovakia (Thanksgiving Break)
October 20, 2025 by 10:00 pm
March Break "Hotchkiss in the World" Programs
Applications are due for the following programs:
Hotchkiss in Atlanta (Civil Rights) (Date TBD; Winter Term)
Hotchkiss in the Adirondacks (introduction to ice climbing)
Hotchkiss in China (Language immersion)
Hotchkiss in France (Military History)
Hotchkiss in Peru (Cultural immersion, high altitude training, and service)
March Break Pre Season Training
Expressions of interest for all March Break pre-season training are also due
Spring Term and Summer "Hotchkiss in the World" and Academic Research Programs
Jan. 28, 2026, 10 p.m. EST

Hersey Scholars Program at Harvard
"Euclid to Einstein" (math and sicence research) at Cornell
Hotchkiss in France (Language immersion)
Hotchkiss in Italy Summer Arts Program
MacLeish Scholars Program at Yale
Matthiessen Environmental Science program with Yale School of Forestry
