The Coolidge Foundation Student Essay Contest…
…whose $10,000 first prize makes it one of the most generous student competitions in the country.
This essay contest has separate divisions for high schoolers and undergraduates.
Up to 10 finalists will be named in each division, and all will receive $1,000.
The essay contest focuses on economics, letting students weigh in on one of the most debated issues in America today:
Protectionism.
Specifically, the protectionist Jones Act of 1920.
Has the Jones Act worked? The students will decide.
A cash prize of $1,000
An expenses-paid trip to D.C. this fall for the finalists’ event
The opportunity to compete for the $10,000 Block Prize and the $5,000 second-place prize, and to have their essay published in the Coolidge Review, the Coolidge Foundation’s magazine

The Zonta Club of Albany offers an exceptional opportunity to recognize students who excel in community service. The Jean M. Coon Humanitarian Award is given to a student whose outstanding community service goes beyond what is required and has a positive impact on the community.
Academic achievement is not a factor in selecting the award recipient.
A certificate and monetary award of $2000 is presented to the winning candidate by the Zonta Club on April 10, 2024.

Essay - Answer the following two questions, 1) "Why do you perform community service and why did you select your specific community service projects ?" (no more than 100 words) 2) "Briefly describe up to three of the community service projects you have performed and the impact you believe that this service project has had on your community and the targeted community if it is different from your local community." (no more than 400 words)

The Horatio Alger Association seek sto assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society.

Eligibility/Requirements:
High school juniors only.
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the U.S.
Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0
U.S. citizen
In order for an application to be considered complete, the applicant's counselor must complete a Certification Form online.

Through the National FFA Foundation, businesses and individuals support scholarships that are awarded to students with a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals. Whether you are planning on attending a specialized training program or seeking a four-year degree, the National FFA Scholarship Program has opportunities for all.
Scholarships support FFA high school seniors and collegiate members as well as non-FFA members. Just one application is required for multiple scholarship opportunities close to $2 million.
