Essay Structure

Hey, I was doing just fine before this unit

Narrative Writing, I could do it.

It was okay.

But now, that I’ve got to write a thesis-driven essay

I’m at a loss for just what to say

Not okay.

To start you have an intro with a hook and thesis

Get your reader’s attention and then you’ve got to keep it

Tell them your main idea, with 3 reasons to seal the deal

Oh I, can write. A thesis-driven essay.

Now move on to the body, there are 3 more paragraphs

Start each with a topic sentence, that connects back to the thesis

Include text evidence and explain how it proves your main idea

Then close it out with the conclusion
