Geography is my passion. It is one of those subjects that encompasses almost every other subject, tying together concepts and philosophies from the Earth's beginnings to Global Warming, from politics to religion, and from swamps to glaciers. Geography is all encompassing.
I like to think that my background in Environmental Studies has allowed me to view the world with a sense of wonder; I never want to stop learning about new landscapes and cultures, and am continuously drawn to travel to different parts of the world. I love to take students on my adventures - most recently to El Salvador with Habitat for Humanity.
I believe that we need to demonstrate our compassion for humanity through our actions and our words. In the context of our Civics program, students are introduced to the concept of democracy and the responsibility each of us has to be informed and involved citizens. I'll help students be advocates for their own voice, and encourage them to be strong leaders in our community. I strongly encourage students to follow their own passions, and to consider lending their talents toward building relationships and helping others.
