COURSE DESCRIPTION
Mandarin 2A continues the development of students’ abilities and confidence in the integrated skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will learn more grammatical structures and vocabulary that will enable them to express themselves through more complex dialogues regarding activities, hobbies and interests, inviting friends to dinner, visiting friends, Mandarin learning experience, school life and other topics. Building on their knowledge from the past, students will explore a deeper understanding of Chinese culture through cultural projects and daily mini lessons with fun facts about Chinese speaking communities in the world, including but not limited to geography, history, festivals, and arts and crafts. In this course, we will also utilize technology to enhance and share our learning and appreciation of the Chinese language and culture.

2. Comment on one’s character writing
3. Talk about one’s experience in learning Chinese vocabulary and grammar
4. Talk about one’s study habits
5. Remark on typical scenes from one’s language class
Lesson 8
1. Describe a student's daily routine
2. Write a simple diary entry or blog post
3. Write a brief letter or formal email applying appropriate conventions
4. Update a friend on recent activities
5. Express hope that a friend will accept your invitation
