Science=change

We continue to see new discoveries across our globe. I wish to share as much as possible but I am only able to do so much within our school day. I will ever endeavor to relay my learning via the classroom and through the resources I discover. Currently meteors and/or asteroids have been entering our atmosphere. Here is a link to the NOVA program where scientist rushed to search for fragments of the recent Russian asteroid and how they are mapping were it came from, what it was made of (composition and density) and even how fast it may have been traveling.

Another fun site to explore is the NASA website which includes subject matter from weather, utilizing the new satellite, of course the Mars rover as well as pictures from around the world and universe (APOD-Astronomy Picture of the Day). ENJOY!

Can't help myself -- CONDOR Camera from Big Sur!!

"In 1987, the last wild California Condor was taken into captivity to join the 26 remaining condors in an attempt to bolster the population through a captive breeding program. At that time, it was uncertain whether or not North America's largest flying land bird (by wingspan, 9.5 feet) would ever again soar in the wild." Today there are 90 wild Condors in California thanks to preservation. We can make a difference.

New OSPREY Next CAM!!

I am always searching for new learning opportunities to enrich our classroom. For the last 15 years I have included my passion for birds, especially the peregrine falcons' recovery in our area. Every spring I watch the webcam and read the blogs: San Jose FALCONs and PG&E San Francisco Camera.
