My name is Neva Supe-Roque the Curriculum Developer here and I would first like to let you know that you are very valued to our community, and will be an asset to bringing change into many lives that come through our courses and programs. We believe that the changes can only occur as you bring your unique talents to the table. We will begin with an orientation to include
No matter what level of teaching experience you have, I am here to help make your classroom experience the most rewarding as possible. Your presence here is really about giving back to the community and meeting the needs of our workforce as well as, ensuring that quality and professional performance to those that come through your classroom. When people become better, it makes our community better. So let’s get started.
First of all, just remember that you are the industry expert, I am in no way going to teach you what it is you know, I am here to just guide you through best practices in developmental learning styles and how that can be translated best to make teaching fun for you. Everyone has their own personalities and styles of communicating, and I believe that you are best at what you do and how you do it, It’s my job to interpret that to the different styles of learning
Develop perspectives and skills needed for lesson planning and/or course/program development in Edvance.
Determine appropriate instructional and evaluation methods for course participants.
Gain perspective on a variety of training methods/resources to identify for lesson implementation.
Demonstrate the process of assessment of improvements and modifications of the changing workforce in developments.
Gain a perspective on Leadership Principles in Education
Below is a series of sections in which you will be going through and receive a badge for each section to recognize the completion of the orientation at your pace. Once you have successfully completed your course instruction and turned in all the deliverables, you will receive a badge certifying the completion of the onboarding as an instructor for Edvance, and if any other updates are needed we will have them readily available to you through email.
In this section, you will gain a better understanding of our handbook and operations to ensure that you know where to go and who to ask for help in logistics of your class needs as well as your operations support staff that can help you with your operational needs.
This section will give you some basic information on policies and procedures in Edvance as well as strategies and other helpful information to guide you in your classroom along the way.
This section will include basic principles in curriculum development of our templates designed for syllabus, lesson plans, surveys, and an overview of Bloom's taxonomy to develop course outcomes. (we will complete the syllabus and then one lesson plan)
In this section, we will go over different instructional methods that are available, copyright, free material resources, and different evaluation methods to help guide you throughout your course instructional time.
This section will provide you inspiring messages and helpful resources to guide you throughout your journey as an instructor in your expertise to influence the participants you come into contact with as an educator. It will also give you helpful Professional development resources.
In this section, there are a few deliverables that are needed to bring to me following your first few days of instruction. This section will include the paperwork and some reminders of what to bring to the follow-up meeting.
