The resources that you are using will require updates from time to time in which the office will do their best to push out as quickly as possible.
Make sure you understand if you are going to use a technology tool what your students/participants are going to need for the course. You can let the program coordinator you are working with know ahead of time and/or while the development of the course if going on.
All courses need to have some kind of syllabus and/or course paper work (lesson plans) to be evaluated by the curriculum developer to ensure that the expectation of the course are being met and designed with the technology tools for best engagement practices, and to ensure we are compliant with Federal ADA guidelines if deemed necessary. (The curriculum developer will assist you in the design as the paperwork is looked over)
Although you may be used to the face-to-face brick and mortar classroom and many times discussions and other inferences are implied and acceptable. here are some brief rules that can be helpful for you and your students to be aware of in chat rooms and/or if you are going to use discussion boards or other forms of communication in place of some of your face-to-face assignments.
Please remind your students/participants to follow online netiquette guidelines. This would include chat responses also if they are not able to access their microphones.
Here is a short video of the link that was just shared above.

The short video below will give you an awareness on some of the statistics and what other students/participants may face when delivering distance education. However, this is not to make you feel uneasy, just know that you will have a Curriculum Developer that can help you with some of your content to assist in this area. We also have Haʻiwi Kokua to help her to get help for our classes here in Edvance or find other sources if itʻs necessary.
