Graph of the Day

Daily graphing activities stem from the question posed each day on our morning message. The everyday activity of classifying, analyzing and interpreting data collected from the class builds upon students’ natural interests in sharing information about themselves and then comparing and contrasting with their classmates. The questions posed could be answered with fact or opinion. Some examples:

How old are you?

How many pets do you have?

Would you rather have a pet dinosaur or a pet giraffe?

The questions are about a particular theme we are studying, or a letter we are learning, or a new math concept to practice.

The class talks about more and less, and learns to analyze the data they have collected. Eventually, each student will pose their own question and interpret their own data.
