What to do
First, assess your prototype and plan your final build
Take another look at your final prototype. Is there anything you want to do differently for the final build
You can choose to rebuild your prototype but you don’t need to. You can also choose to directly transform your prototype into the final build.
Once you’ve identified all of the changes you want to make, come up with a plan and gather any additional materials you need.
Next, construct, test, and troubleshoot your final build
Follow your plan and construct your final build. Either you will be rebuilding your prototype or augmenting your existing prototype.
Of course, no matter how carefully you prepare for your final build, something will usually go wrong. If this is the case, try troubleshooting to identify the cause of the problem.
Test the relevant subcomponents individually, and observe them closely for anything that isn’t quite right.
If you have a camera or camera phone with the capability, filming a test in slow motion can often help identify exactly what went wrong and when.
Once you have found the problem, make adjustments as needed, and run your tests again.
Once your final build is working as expected, give it a makeover
Aesthetics matter! Spend some time to make sure your build looks exactly the way you want and reflects the story you want to tell.
The point is to create a cohesive look and feel for your creation, whether that means adding color, embellishments, decorations, or elements that help you tell a story. Let your creativity loose and make your build look uniquely yours!
Finally, share your final build
When your build is finished, upload a video of your final build below.
Tell the story of your build, and share what you learned during the process.
