Homework Tips
Do homework in a location that you work the best.
This will be different for different people.
For some, a quiet bedroom works best while for others the dining room table is a good place.
Consider the public library if distractions at home are too great.
Have all the materials you need collected.
Materials include pencils & pens, paper, ruler, calculator, art material if doing a poster
Store materials in one place such as a desk drawer or a box.
Make a plan.
Which assignments are due?
Which assignments are the most important?
Create a list.
Create a routine.
A routine can be either after school, after dinner or a combination of both.
A routine should also include short breaks as well as some physical activity if at all possible.
Put your phone away during the time you are working on homework.
There is a lot of researched information on the distractions a cell phone causes to learning.
You will get more done in less time.

Lists are listed by the week in the month where the majority of the days fall.
Each individual day has its own button.
Homework for each class is listed by the subject and then the teacher.
Homework lists are also posted in Rm. 120.
Tips for Complete Homework with Less Stress
1) Keep all of the materials such as pencils, pens, paper, highlights together that you will need. A box will work if you don't have a desk of your own.
2) Find the space in your house or apartment where you focus the best and are the most productive. This is different for different students.
3) Create a list each night. Cross of assignments as you complete them.
4) Put your phone away! Better yet, put your phone in another room or turn your phone off!
5) Take a 5 to 10 minute break every 50 minutes. Get up and stretch!
6) Start your homework as soon as possible after arriving home. Get a snack and then start in.
7) Use your time wisely at school. The more you get done at school means the less you have to do at home.
8) Ask for help when needed. Be specific about what you need help with.
