We understand that the process may be intimidating.
Please know everyone has unique talents and skills and an equal chance.
Your attitude will determine a lot of your success.
Lastly, we do not expect anyone to have prior architectural design experience.

Watch this video showing how to photograph the sketches. [Created by and starring RStockham - Former Instructor for Architecture Foundations 1H]
Sketch from real life on 8 ½ x 11 plain white copy paper with a regular #2 pencil the following:
A pot or pan for cooking - using value only, no outlines.
A pair of keys on a ring - using line only, no value.
A place setting after you have eaten.
A wood, plastic, or metal chair turned at an angle. Include seat, back, and legs.
Sketch from real life, not photographs or memory.
Spend no less than 5 and no more than 15 minutes on each sketch.
These are not intended to be finished works of art. DO NOT ERASE ANYTHING.
FILL THE PAGE. Scale the objects up or down to fit the page. Think about the composition of the page.
Put things under a light to help generate shadows and accentuate the form of the objects.
Pay attention to and draw the forms, proportions, and perspective. Do not include text or graphic patterns.
When done with the sketches, photograph or scan them. Do your best to keep the images as clear and bright as possible. DO NOT USE EDITING PROGRAMS TO MODIFY THE IMAGES.
Do not sign the work on the front, do not put your name on the front.
Do not throw these away; we will want to see them at the in-person audition.
In the written reflection, identify one strength in the sketch and one area for improvement.
Using the vocabulary list provided, write a few sentences about each building. Tell us what is cool about the architecture and why. Use complete sentences, and your best spelling and grammar.
