After watching the earthquakes mini lesson, include the section of the video that shares Doug’s top 5 bonus for fun. * For building prototypes: invite students to bring in their own supplies from home, (have a few sets on hand for those who forget). OR have everyone use play doh (or mini marshmallows) and toothpicks prototypes. *Incorporate time to discuss and collaborate. Have students share their design brainstorms with before building. Share successes and failures after the first test before everyone improves their first prototype.
