High Ability Learner (HAL) Philosophy
The High Ability Learner Program is committed to a curriculum which recognizes individual strengths and encourages the creative thought process by offering differentiated services to students who demonstrate high abilities in academic areas.
HAL Program Goals
- To provide high level cognitive thinking skills through questioning techniques which enhance problem solving and decision making skills.
- To assist gifted students in building positive self-images reflective of successful individuals.
- To support parents and teachers with a better understanding of giftedness and to provide staff with additional resources to meet the needs of high ability learners.
