Meet Mrs. Frederick

"Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow." -Anthony D'Angelo

Hello Parents and Students,

My name is Jill Frederick, and I am excited to be teaching the High Ability Learner Program at Whitetail Creek and Aspen Creek Elementary Schools! I have previously taught fifth and seventh grades, and this is my seventh year as a HAL facilitator.

I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be a teacher. My educational philosophy matches perfectly with Gretna Public School’s mission statement: “Accept all students unconditionally and maximize their potential." Students learn best when they feel safe, secure and cared about. I believe in building relationships with students and families and fostering a positive community environment in my classroom. I am always here to help you be your very best!

I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. I earned a Master’s Degree from Peru State University in curriculum and instruction and an endorsement in gifted education from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. I also serve on the board for the Papillion/La Vista Schools Foundation.

My husband, Jim, and I have been married for seventeen years. We love going to the movies, cheering for the CU Jays and trying new restaurants. We have twin daughters, Maggie and Mackenzie. Our girls turned 13 this summer, and they are in seventh grade in the Papillion/La Vista school district. We love being their parents! As a family, we enjoy making homemade pizza and playing board games.

Thank you for letting me be part of your educational journey! It’s going to be a wonderful year!

Educationally yours,

Jill Frederick
