Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Wisconsin Leadership Seminar (HOBY)
Each year GLHS sends one interested student who has just completed 10th grade.
Cost: Registration is covered by sponsoring unit. Student is responsible for arrangement of transportation to the event and spending money while at the event.
Wisconsin Leadership Seminar (WILS)
Each year GLHS sends one interested student who has just completed 10th grade.
Cost: Registration is covered by sponsoring unit. Student is responsible for arrangement of transportation to the event and spending money while at the event.
Each year the Green Lake Rotary sends one interested student who has just completed either the 10th or 11th grade.
Cost: Registration is covered by sponsoring unit. Student is responsible for arrangement of transportation to the event and spending money while at the event.
Each year the American Legion Post and Rotary team up to send a few interested male students who have just completed the 11th grade.
Cost: Registration is covered by sponsoring unit. Student is responsible for arrangement of transportation to the event and spending money while at the event.
Each year the American Legion Post and Rotary team up to send a few interested female students who have just completed the 11th grade.
Cost: Registration is covered by sponsoring unit. Student is responsible for $25 deposit at time of check-in, arrangement of transportation to the event, and spending money while at the event.
Rotary Summer Youth Exchange - Short Term Exchange Program (STEP)
The Short Term Exchange Program is for any student, age 15-18 of good character who possesses a warm personality and a desire to live abroad and host in return. Candidates should be adaptable and flexible, well mannered and want to experience life in other countries and cultures. Children of Rotarians and non-Rotarians are equally eligible.
Program timeline:
Apply/select local candidates/match with oversees candidate: February - April (available on Website)
Orientation Meeting: May
Begin 3 to 4 week exchange: June
Families involved select exchange dates.
Program costs:
$250 administration fee, includes supplemental life and health insurance while abroad as well as a Rotary shirt.
Round trip flights typically cost $1000 to $2000. Cost of Passport and Visa (if required).
GL Rotary will be providing a new scholarship to help defray these costs.
