I. Substance Abuse (Standard #10)
Students will understand the progression from abuse to addiction
Students will understand the physical, mental and social effects of drug abuse
II. Decision Making (Standard #5/ Standard #9)
Students will be able to identify the five steps in making healthy decisions and apply to real world situations
Students will be able to make rational decisions that promote personal physical, emotional and social well-being
Students will understand that conflict is a natural process of life
Students will demonstrate effective communication, negotiation and conflict resolution for resolving all conflicts
III. HIV/ AIDS Education (Standard #8)
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the ways HIV is and is not transmitted
Students will be able to understand how HIV creates an unhealthy immune system
