Securly Filter is a cloud-based web filter designed for K-12 schools to help keep students safe.
Filtering at School and at Home
Securly will filter devices while they are at school and home. Glastonbury Public Schools maintains several web filter settings on your child’s iPad.
We block specific content categories (e.g., social media, gambling, and chat/messaging websites).
We enforce the safe search feature for our allowed search engines (Google, Bing, and Yahoo).
We monitor flagged activities (e.g., activities related to self-harm or bullying).
Role of the Family
The web filter is not a replacement for family involvement. We encourage parents and guardians to regularly monitor their children’s internet activity.
Know the passcode to your child's iPad.
Frequently check what your child is downloading and accessing on the device.
Talk with your child and ask about content/apps on the iPads and how they are using them.
Securly Home for Families
At this time, Glastonbury Public Schools has enabled the Offline Schedules and Pause the Internet features for families.
The Securly Home app allows families to control their child’s school device when it goes home.
In June 2024, families of incoming 6th to 12th graders will receive an email invitation from Securly Home. Parents/guardians will receive Parents/guardians can download the app onto their personal phone or tablet from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. Please use the email address you have on file with Glastonbury Public Schools to sign in.
When the 2024-2025 school year begins, elementary families will also receive the email invitation (as appropriate) from Securly Home.
Offline Schedules
Families can set specific time schedules for the iPad's internet access while it is away from school. Families can customize weekday and weekend wake and sleep times.

Families can pause the iPad's internet access while it is away from school.

A: You can customized these features for your children using the app on your personal device.

A: Glastonbury Public Schools is currently assessing additional features for possible use in the future.
