Reminders and Notices
Reporting Student Absence
Please call the numbers indicated for each school above to report student absence. Remember to include the child's name, date, and reason for their absence. You may leave a recorded message.
Snacks
Please send students to school with a healthy snack each day (e.g. fruit, veggies, whole wheat crackers, yogurt). Adequate nutrition is important for learning. Please respect nut-free classroom guidelines if your child's class is nut-free.
Returning to School Following Illness
Students must be fever free and vomit/diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child begins a course of antibiotics, please allow 24 hours before returning to school. Please do not put your child and their classmates at risk by sending them back to school before they have fully recovered.
Medication
A physician's authorization form is required in order for a school nurse to administer medication to students. Please see medication authorization information in the left sidebar. The form must be signed by both physician and parent/legal guardian. ALL medication MUST be brought in by a parent in its original packaging and/or with pharmacy label. Students are not allowed to transport medication to and from school. Please check that medications have not expired before dropping off.
Vision, Hearing, and Postural Screening
Screenings will be conducted in the health office according to our district policy. A referral will be sent home if any student does not pass the screening. If you do not hear from the school nurse, assume your child has passed. If you would like more information, feel free to contact the nurse.
Cough Drops
A parent note is required allowing a student to use cough drops. Cough drops are not supplied by the school and must be brought from home. The classroom teacher will administer the cough drops as needed to the student.
Clothing
Please send students to school with clothing appropriate for the weather.
