Library Policies
Expectations
In order to maintain an environment where all students and staff have a place to study, read, research, hang out, and relax, please observe the following:
Use an appropriate noise level for the space.
Arrive on time or bring a pass.
Sign out and take a pass when you leave.
Small snacks and refreshments allowed. Be responsible.
Respect our shared spaces and keep furniture in its place.
The 3 Library Zones
Quiet Zone (the back area): Please work quietly and respect your peers.
Collaboration Zone (the middle area): Collaborate with your peers using an appropriate volume.
Community Zone (the front area): Play games, hang out, or just chill. Use an appropriate volume and respect the space.
Borrowing Materials
Borrowing Books:
Check out print books at the main desk
Check out e-books and audio books through the Sora app
Loan period - 20 school days
Renewals- books can be renewed online (through the catalog), or at the main desk
Renewals not possible if someone has a hold on the material
If a book is overdue, please bring it into the library to renew at the main desk
Holds - If the book you want has been borrowed by another person, you can place a hold. Ask library staff to put it on reserve for you. You will receive an email when it becomes available.
Late/Lost/Damaged Materials:
Students who have lost or damaged a book must pay the replacement cost.
Books not returned by their due date will be considered lost, and students will be charged the replacement cost for those books. If the books are returned in acceptable condition, there is no cost to the student.
If a book is not returned and the replacement cost is not paid, students will be referred to the administration.
Students with overdue books and/or who owe money may not check out additional books until their record is clear.
Getting In and Out of the Library

7:00 am–3:50 pm, Monday through Friday
To Get Into the Library
1. Before school: No pass is needed.
2. Free Periods:
Arrive before the bell rings or bring a pass with you.
Period 3 is the lunch period. If you have a free period during period 3 you will come to the library before the bell and eat lunch during lunch wave 4.
4. Mentor and/or Regular Freshman Study Halls not in the library:
If you need to come to the library to check out a book or meet with a librarian, you must obtain a pass from your study hall teacher.
To return to your study hall, obtain a pass at the check-out desk.
5. After school: No pass is needed unless coming from a sport study hall.
To Leave the Library
Lav or Locker Pass: Sign out and in at the main desk and take a laminated pass.
Guidance/Health Office/Main Office: Obtain a blue pass at the main desk
Cafeteria: No pass is necessary.
If you leave the library to go to the cafeteria, however, you stay in the cafe for the remainder of the period.
Students may not leave during the last 10 minutes of the period (unless they have a pass).
