A language and philosophy education project for youngsters 6-12 years old

The general aim of language and philosophy education is to enable youngsters to learn the basics of the English language through thoughtful experiences.
The curriculum is designed for youngsters to learn and practice the English language by experiencing thoughtful situations. Youngsters will then memorise and understand naturally words and grammar rules.
The curriculum aims to instill a love of thinking that is expressed by acquiring accordingly the relevant language skills. Besides, the teaching method also allows youngsters to fulfil themselves through interpersonal communication. By combining thinking and speaking the curriculum therefore seeks to develop youngsters intellectually, creatively and ethically.
For example, depending on age and class level, youngsters could be shown images of dinosaurs or dolls and asked if they are their friends or toys; or, they could be asked if they enjoy eating like playing, or why people are sometimes angry; or, when a drawing represents a cat, is it a cat?
This teaching and learning method is inspired by the P4C pedagogy (Philosophy For Children) initiated by American scholars Matthew Lipman and Ann Margaret Sharp, and, more recently by French philosopher Frédéric Lenoir.
A French version, Je pense donc je parle, is also under consideration.
Three classes per week:
· 6-8 years old (1 hour)
· 8-10 years old (1 hour)
· 10-12 years old (1 hour ½)

課程旨在通過相應地掌握相關的語言技能來培養對思考的熱愛。此外,教學方法使孩子們得以透過人際交流來實現自我。通過結合思考和說話,課程因此尋求在智力,創造力和品格上培養兒童。
例如,根據年齡和班級,孩子們可以看到恐龍或娃娃的圖像,並詢問他們這些是否是他們的朋友或玩具;或者,可以問孩子們是否享受飲食就像玩耍一樣,又或者為什麼人們有時會生氣;或者,當一幅畫呈現一隻貓時,它就是一隻貓嗎?
這種教學方法的靈感來自美國學者Matthew Lipman和Ann Margaret Sharp,或者最近由法國哲學家Frédéric Lenoir發起的P4C教學法(兒童哲學)。 P4C教學法在我自己所任教的國立愛爾蘭大學(NUI Galway)也有進行研究和開發,作為其哲學對話計畫的一部分。
每週將有三節課:
