I am professor of philosophy at Georgetown University, with a specialization in modern German philosophy, esp. the early thought of Martin Heidegger. I teach and occasionally write more broadly in phenomenology, existentialism, philosophy of history, philosophy of sport, and the history of modern philosophy.

I am also (this year) Director of Graduate Admissions for the Philosophy Dept.

On July 1, 2015 I will begin a three-year term as chair of the Philosophy Dept.
