1. Once you have received your GCSD9 issued Chromebook, you may need to plug it in to charge it.
2. Students at each level have different passwords settings. If your student is unsure of their password, you can e-mail or call the tech helpline and they can reset the password.
3. Logging in to your personal device or home computer will be different than on a district device. The following directions are for a DISTRICT ISSUED CHROMEBOOK:
Open the Chromebook and be sure it has connected to your wifi
Once connected, enter the student’s ID/Lunch number and hit enter
Next, type your student’s password and hit enter.
Students will then have access to their Google Drive account, which includes Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Meets, and the Google Classroom feature.
4. To go to the student’s Google Drive, look to the top right and click on the Google Apps icon and then the Google Drive icon. You then go BACK up to the to the Google Apps icon and click on Google Classroom.
5. The first time a student enters Google Classroom, they will need to click on “I’m a student”. Then if the student is not automatically taken to the classroom, they will be prompted to enter a class code. This code would be provided by the teacher if needed. Students should then click on “Join the Class”.
