GCISD provides screening, assessment and instruction for dyslexia and dyslexia-related disorders as outlined in the state dyslexia handbook.
Screening:
First grade students are screened by the end of January. Kindergarten students are screened by the end of the school year.
Assessment:
Contact your campus Assistant Principal to request assessment. After assessment is requested, you will be contacted by the campus diagnostician to begin the assessment process.
Students identified with dyslexia, or a dyslexia related disorder, or is deemed at risk for dyslexia, may access to the Talking Book Program through the Texas State Library and Archives.
