In summary this case study has added to the body of evidence that supports the use of ESR AFOs by finding similar walking results in a second population regarding ROM, moments and powers at the ankle (See resources section) . Also it has demonstrated the ability of the brace to decrease stresses through joints that are not encompassed by the brace. These effects were also shown to occur during running which is an important effect in an active individual who claims of tiring easily. Additional research should be performed to further support the use of ESR AFOs by incorporating a larger subject pool and comparisons between different treatment methods as currently comparisons have only been made to the shoes only condition. Furthermore additional research should be performed with respect to various pathological conditions.
