As the culture researcher, you will ask the following questions:

      • Where in the world is this and how did the culture divide the world? For example, on a map, where would you find the Greeks? Where did the gods live? Humans? The dead?

      • What was the environment like and how did it shape the myths?

      • What type of rule/government was there and how did it shape the myths?

      • What was society like? Were there divisions among people?

As the pantheon researcher (the gods of a particular mythology considered collectively), you will collect the following information:

    • A diagram of the pantheon. You may have to create your own. You will be submitting this to me.

    • Who was in charge/deity of:

      • everything/ruler?

      • love?

      • nature? (you may break out into specifics)

      • life?

      • death?

      • war?

      • anything else that is important to the culture

    • How the culture balanced good and evil.

    • The role of the gods in the culture

As the hero/myth researcher, you will do the following:

      • Choose 2 heroes to research.

      • A summary of his/her deeds

      • A list of traits shown by the hero that the culture tried to emulate

      • Read and retell a creation myth using a web 2.0 tool (book or cartoon or animation) -Check my list for options in the materials on Schoology

After you have completed your research and answered each of the questions, you will create your presentation.

    • Requirements are:

      • Images cited correctly using creative commons images

      • works cited in MLA format for all information

      • Cover page

    • Notes Check List -check here and print this out to fill in your notes. This will help you make certain all of the questions are answered for your presentation.
