Core Word Lessons
Core words are the little words we use all the time as speaking people. They make up 80% of our vocabulary. Renton School District takes the research-backed core word approach when working with augmented communicators so that our students learn vocabulary that can be used in a variety of settings. These lessons can help provide structure for explicitly teaching these words in a natural context. Using core vocabulary throughout your daily routines is the most powerful way to teach these words. If you would like help with how to approach that, please contact me.
