The Pearson Patriots' Library
That's what I call myself - the Library Lady. My name is Deb Lowery - rhymes with Flowery - and I have seven years working in a school library, including elementary, middle, and high school libraries. I love reading, writing, traveling, attending musicals and concerts, watching movies, watching our favorite sports teams - especially the University of Kansas Jayhawks - and spending time with family and friends.
I am a grade 6-12 Texas-certified educator in integrated language arts, English, and speech communication. In addition, I have passed the Master of Library Science - School Library Certification exam, and I am finishing my Master of Library Science from TWU in May 2026. I love to assist and collaborate with students and staff. Let me know how I can help. I'll gladly do so.
Note: I am a long-term sub librarian who will be at Pearson until the last day of school.

Every period, except second period, has at least one library aide to assist students and staff with checking out and checking in books, to assist patrons with renewing books and placing books on hold, and to get books back on the shelves. Every single day, library aides pick up books from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade hallways that need to be returned to the library. In addition, they deliver library items to staff in their rooms, dust the book shelves, and keep the library running.
Interested in being a library aide?
It's a course option for 8th grade students, and you must apply and be selected to become a library aide.
