Checkouts, Holds, and Renewals of Books
You may check out printed books from the library, or you can check out audiobooks and e-Books from Sora. You can also put books on hold or renew books from the library catalog or in the library itself. For more information on how to do these things, see the FAQs page on this site.
Genres in the Library
The library shelves are organized by genres, which is a fancy word for categories. Each book shelf has a list of genres on top of it and a sign that shows you which section you are in.
Note: Graphic novels are not on the fiction genres list. With a white spine label, graphic novels start with GRA on the label.
Favorites from Pearson Students
Pearson Middle School students love to read, so we're highlighlighing a few books here for you to consider. Before you choose a book, read the inside cover, the back cover, and a few pages at the beginning of the book. The five finger rule still applies, so use it. Ask your friends for recommendations, and remember that if you don't like a book or don't think it's a good fit after you check it out, you can always return it the library and check out a different book.
