Lauren Brochu

Hello Norris Families! My name is Lauren Brochu, and I am proud to be a Norris Elementary Knight. I am originally from Gainesville, FL, and was lucky enough to teach at my old elementary school. I then moved to Key West, FL and enjoyed 8 wonderful years teaching by the ocean. I earned a Bachelor's Degree and minor in business from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in math and science from the University of Florida. I also have teaching endorsements in reading, ELL, and gifted education. This year will be my 20th year teaching. I have taught kindergarten through fifth grade, with 5 years in Key West being in 5th grade science. My last 4 years were in 3rd grade here at Norris Elementary in Frisco. I am a BIG science nerd!

I have a true passion for working with our youngest learners!! Helping each child progress in all areas of their development—academic, social, and language - a challenge that I am honored to accept daily. I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, respectful, and fun environment.

When not teaching, I used to enjoy boating, spearfishing, and lobstering in Key West. This is a little harder to do landlocked in Texas, but I have been venturing out to find many new hobbies here in the Lone Star State. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, relaxing with my husband, Dan, our son, Theodore, our dog, Riley, and enjoying the great outdoors.

Last August, we welcomed our first child, Theodore to the world. He is such a blessing and joy in our lives!
