This is my ninth year as a dyslexia teacher in Frisco ISD and my twenty-first year in public education as a teacher. I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University. The passion that I have for children and their ability to read runs deep in my love for learning.

My husband and I have lived in Frisco since 1991. Our twins, Colton and Grant, attended Frisco ISD from kindergarten to graduation. They are now seniors at University of Texas in Austin. Our youngest son, Reid, is a senior at Wakeland High School.

October is National Dyslexia Awareness Month.

Students with dyslexia experience difficulty in reading, spelling, and written expression. These difficulties are unexpected in relation to their other abilities. Research shows that almost 20% of the population has dyslexia, that is 1 out of 5 people.
