I am thrilled to be entering my fifth year as the Instructional Coach at Isbell! It is a great privilege for me to have the opportunity to support our amazing Isbell students and teachers in this role.

I started out teaching middle school for seven years, the last two in Frisco ISD. I then left teaching and spent ten years working several part time jobs so I could be at home with my three children. When my youngest started kindergarten, I was fortunate to return to teaching at Isbell. I spent my first three years teaching in the resource room. The last four years I have been lucky enough be the Instructional Coach at Isbell

My youngest daughter is a 7th grader at Vandeventer and my older daughter will be a sophomore at Liberty. My son will be a senior at Liberty and making the important decision of where to head off to college the next year. In my spare time I love reading and watching my children play all sorts of sports (mostly hockey and soccer.) I even try to squeeze in a few of my husband’s hockey or soccer games.

I love learning and I love children. That is why teaching is the perfect profession for me! Research constantly provides us new insights into effective teaching strategies, so I get to grow as a professional all the time. I truly believe that our Isbell community (teachers, administrators, and parents) work together to prepare our students for a life of continuous growth and learning.

My position as an Instructional Coach has been an exciting adventure for me. Coaching teachers is particularly rewarding for me, because I have the opportunity to go into all of our amazing teachers’ classrooms to support them. I then have the chance to see the best strategies that each of them use, and share these strategies with other teachers on our campus. Similarly, I bring approaches and techniques from the district and other trainings to our teachers to enhance student learning. This goes right along with Frisco’s mission statement of ‘knowing every student by name and need.” I get to support teachers in their work to target every student’s ‘need’. Building the partnerships between school and students’ homes is another wonderful part of my position.
