Mrs. Jacobs

Hello and welcome to third grade! I'm Mrs. Jacobs, and I couldn't be more excited to kick off another amazing school year with your family! This year marks my 20th year of teaching (which sounds like a long time, but I promise I'm still young enough to dance in the classroom out of adult sight). It's also my 12th year at Gunstream, and I truly feel lucky to call it my school home.

When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me hanging out with my wonderful husband, Michael, whom I've been married to for almost 15 years, our two awesome kids, and our three spoiled dogs. Christopher is beginning 8th grade at Wester (someone please tell me how THAT happened!), and Caraline is officially a 3rd grader here at Gunstream, so I'll be getting the full third-grade experience both at school and at home!

In our classroom, we'll work hard, laugh often, cheer each other on, and probably hear a few groan-worthy "teacher jokes" along the way. I love creating hands-on learning experiences, celebrating even the smallest victories, and making school a place where students feel safe to ask questions, try new things, and be themselves. My goal is for every child to leave our classroom a little more confident, a little kinder, and a whole lot smarter than when they walked in.
