Hello and welcome to the 2026-2027  school year!  My name is Amy Hejnicki and I am very excited to be teaching 2nd grade at Carroll again this year, I think this school is a great place to be!  I am a native Texan and I attended Texas A&M University which is where I met my husband, Mark.  This is my 24th year in education and my 17th year working at Carroll.  Mark and I have 3 "kids", two grand daughters and two spoiled dogs.   Our son, Kyle, is a graduate of Texas A&M University and he is a teacher and coach at Canyon Lake High School in the Texas Hill Country.  He and his wife, Lauren, live in Bulverde where she works at her family's home building business.  They have two precious daughters, Lucille and Eliza.   Kathryn also graduated from Texas A&M and recently got married. She and her husband, Ryan, live in Austin where she is a 7th grade math teacher in Round Rock ISD. Courtney is a senior at Texas A&M studying Dance Science. She will graduate in May and hopes to go to graduate school to study physical therapy.  As you can tell, we've made Texas A&M a family tradition!  I enjoy reading, relaxing with family, traveling. On many weekends you'll find us making trips to Aggieland for football games and to see Courtney or going to Bulverde or Asutin.  I am looking forward to an amazing year working with your precious children!  We're going to make it a great year!
