Yellow Daily Folder:
The yellow daily folders will be sent home each day. Miscellaneous school and PTA papers and graded classwork will be coming home on Thursdays. Please help your child check daily to see if any important paperwork needs to come out.
In order to help teach your child responsibility, establish a routine each day where you go through the folder together. Then return any paperwork to the folder and make sure the folder gets back in their backpack. Yellow folders must be returned each day.
Planners:
Planners will be sent home daily along with the yellow folders. Planners are used for communication between the home and school regarding your child’s behavior and important dates in the classroom as well as on campus. Planners are a great place to record your child's reading minutes throughout the week. These will need to be read and signed each night.
Weekly Email:
Each Thursday a classroom newsletter will be sent to you. This email is to inform you of the curriculum for the week and any other important information.
After school transportation:
If your child’s daily routine changes for some reason, please let us know prior to that day If possible. If something unexpected occurs and changes need to be made the day of the change, please email your child's teacher as well as contacting the front office to ensure we get the message. People picking up your child MUST be on your approved dismissal list and come prepared to show ID.
Toys:
Toys, balls, stuffed animals, extra money, candy, gum, etc. should be left at home. There may be special times when students can bring such items, for example: special projects, after school activity etc.
Snack:
The students may bring a healthy snack for themselves each day. Some good choices might be fruit, crackers, cheese etc. Please avoid sending any liquid snacks or dessert items. Also we do not allow things that need a spoon.
Medication:
If your child is sick and needs to take medication they will need to keep it in the nurse’s office. It needs to be brought in its original container with your child’s name on it and a note from you explaining how and when it needs to be administered. Everything will have to be taken to the nurse, even cough drops and over the counter medication (for example Tylenol, aspirin, etc.
Parent Visits and Volunteers:
Parent volunteers are always welcome and you can set up a time to volunteer through the PTA or your child’s teacher. We do ask that you check-in at the office to ensure the security of our students and our building.
All volunteers must pass a background check before volunteering. To access the on-line form, please follow these steps.
