¡Hola! ¡Me llamo Elvira Rojas y estoy muy emocionada de dar clases de primer grado! Comienzo mi undécimo año como maestra y mi decimoquinto año en educación. Me gradué de la Preparatoria Frisco (La Original) y he vivido en Frisco toda mi vida. Asistí a la Universidad de Texas Woman's University y me gradué con una Licenciatura en Ciencias en Estudios Interdisciplinarios en 2002. También obtuve mi Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo y Estudios Políticos en la Universidad de Texas en Arlington en 2009.

Durante los últimos 13 años, he estado principalmente en casa cuidando de mi familia. Mi esposo y yo tenemos tres hijos que nos mantienen muy ocupados. Joshua tiene 20 años y actualmente cursa su penúltimo año en la Universidad del Norte de Texas. Luciana, que este año cursa octavo grado, y Mark, que cursa sexto, asisten a la escuela secundaria en el Distrito Escolar Independiente de Frisco. Paso la mayor parte de mis tardes y fines de semana asistiendo a las actividades y eventos deportivos de mis hijos, y me encanta estar presente apoyándolos desde el margen. En mi tiempo libre disfruto haciendo senderismo, ir al cine y planear viajes (que pueden o no suceder, ¡pero también es divertido ver lugares virtualmente!).

Hello! My name is Elvira Rojas and I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade! I'm starting my 11th year as a teacher and my 15th year in education total. I am a graduate of Frisco High School (The Original) and I've lived in Frisco my whole life. I attended Texas Woman's University and graduated with Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2002. I also earned my Masters in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2009.

For the last 13 years I've mostly been home caring for my family. My husband and I have 3 children that keep us very busy. Joshua is 20 and is currently in his junior year at The University of North Texas. Luciana an 8th grader this year and Mark a 6th grader both attend middle school in Frisco ISD. I spend most of my evenings and weekends attending my children's activities and sports events for which I love being there supporting them on the sidelines. During my free time I enjoy hiking, going to the movies, and planning trips (that may or may not happen but it's fun to see places virtually as well!)
